#Professional Biography

Pritchard Mukuka is a renowned renewable energy expert, engineer, and business leader with extensive experience in solar energy, carbon financing, clean cooking technologies, particularly biogas technologies and improved cookstoves. As a former renewable advisor from SNV, Pritchard has the experience and expertise required to design biogas programs and deliver trainings in the construction, installation, operations and maintenance of biodigester technologies including the applications of bioslurry for agricultural use in farming.

With a Master’s in Renewable Energy Systems from Massey University (New Zealand) and a Bachelor’s in Electrical/Electronic Engineering from Copperbelt University (Zambia), Pritchard has played a pivotal role in shaping Zambia’s renewable energy landscape. His vast experience includes energy auditing, biogas systems, and productive-use energy solutions, having worked with organizations such as SNV, World Bank, USAID, UNEP, Engineers Without Borders, and the Zambian government. He has contributed to key national projects, including grid-scale solar feasibility studies, clean cooking strategy development, and the operationalization of energy financing initiatives.

National Consultant

Representing Chemonics Egypt Consultants LTD to undertake stakeholders engagement as part of the Energy Efficiency for Sustainable Livelihoods in Africa – EELA Programme. Activities include conducting interviews with key stakeholders in the policy, legal and regulatory environment, and advising on Energy Efficiency MEPS appliances as well as Energy Savings opportunities for industries and factories.

Local Energy Consultant

Collaborating with the UNEP Copenhagen Climate Centre (UNEP-CCC) to support the implementation of the DANIDA GPUC project in Zambia, focusing on building energy efficiency in Lusaka. This involves collecting project-related data, coordinating and engaging with local stakeholders, organizing meetings and site visits, and disseminating analysis results.

Short Term Consultant

Providing overall support to the Task Team and the government in the preparation and implementation of energy programs. Supporting diverse tasks within the National Energy Advancement and Transformation (NEAT) Program, including reviewing reports for verification of DLIs and organizing stakeholder workshops.

Alternatives Fuels & Technologies Expert Consultant

Providing technical assistance on AFT to USAID A2C Cohort businesses. Supporting evaluation and selection of ATF companies and their technologies, providing training on practical steps for building and scaling resilient ATF products.

Electrical Engineer

Conducting feasibility studies for REA’s mini grid off-grid projects for EU demonstration projects in Zambia. Including power output estimation, site characteristics assessment, and development of scale-up plans.

Worked on Integrated Resource Plan for Zambia’s Electricity Sector, IDC Renewable Energy Project (5MW off-grid project), Lusaka City Energy Efficient Project, and University of Zambia Energy Efficiency Capacity Project.

Sustainability and Engineering Expert Consultant

Waste to Energy Project for Choma Municipal Council. Skills assessment for capacity of the council and conducted a feasibility study for solid waste management.
