Since earning her Bachelor of Engineering in Agricultural Engineering from the University of Zambia in 2023, Fay has been deeply engaged in Zambia’s energy sector, working at the intersection of sustainable agriculture, clean energy (Productive use of energy) and youth development.

She currently serves with the Zambia Renewable Energy Association (ZARENA), where she plays a central role in the implementation of the Kazungula Solar for Climate Resilience and Productive Uses (S4CRPU) Project, which commenced in November 2024. Her responsibilities include contributing to feasibility studies, designing and facilitating training-of-trainers sessions for cooperatives, developing standard operating procedures and technical manuals, and supporting the creation of community-led business models for border trade in agricultural produce. The project directly supports over 200 households in Silimbana and Sichombe villages.

Fay was also a Technical Consultant on the USAID-supported Clean Cooking Strategy and Action Plan (CCSAP), focusing on improved cookstoves and biogas. Her work involved conducting policy research, engaging stakeholders, drafting technical reports, and presenting findings during national validation workshops. These efforts contributed to shaping Zambia’s long-term clean cooking framework to support a dynamic, market-driven energy transition.

Beyond her technical roles, Fay leads ZARENA’s quarterly newsletter production, where she coordinates content that amplifies member contributions, project milestones, and policy developments. She also manages ZARENA’s national mentorship program, overseeing mentor-mentee matching, moderating webinars, handling queries, and organizing monthly engagements to support the next generation of energy leaders.

She is a strong advocate for gender inclusion in energy and leads outreach programs at institutions like the University of Zambia and Kasisi Girls Secondary School. Through workshops and talks, she encourages young girls to pursue STEM and clean energy careers, empowering them to shape Zambia’s sustainable future.
